Fractional COO & Operations

Operational leadership from someone who has actually run a company.

Hands-on help to build systems, execution cadence, and accountability, so you can scale without drowning in it. Fractional and interim engagements sized to what you need.

The owner is the bottleneck. Processes live in people's heads, execution slips, and there's no operating rhythm, but a full-time COO isn't affordable or warranted yet. That's exactly the gap we fill.

Who it's for

Founder-led companies roughly $1M-$10M scaling past their systems, and businesses preparing for growth or a transition who need real operating help, not just advice.

Real operating credibility

David Haberland served as fractional and interim COO of a $3-$5M New Hampshire company and as a SCORE small-business mentor. That is hands-on operating experience, not theory from the sidelines.

Boundaries. This is hands-on operating leadership and knowledge transfer. It does not include bookkeeping (available separately via Lorelei Haberland), accounting or tax services, or legal advice. Where those judgments are required, we coordinate with your licensed professionals.

What owners ask us first

How is this different from a business coach?

A coach advises from the sideline. A fractional COO gets in and does the operating work with you, building the systems, running the cadence, and holding execution accountable.

How many days a month?

Typically 2-4 days per month, scaled to your needs. We right-size the cadence to your stage and budget, and adjust as things stabilize.

Can you help me hire my own ops lead?

Yes. A common path is to stabilize operations, define the role clearly, then help you hire and onboard a permanent ops lead, with a clean handoff.

Do you work alongside our bookkeeper or CFO?

Absolutely. We coordinate with your existing finance, accounting, and legal partners rather than replace them. The goal is one coherent operating picture.
